In the 35th Asian Wrestling Championship being held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from April 19, Anshu Malik, Radhika won silver medals and Manisha won bronze medals. Indian female wrestler Anshu achieved this feat in the finals of 57 weight category, Radhika in 65 weight category while Manisha achieved this feat in 62 weight category.
Before Anshu, Geeta Phogat, Babita Phogat, Pooja Dhanda, and Vinesh Phogat have won bronze medals in the World Championships, but no female wrestler could reach the final and bring silver.
Anshu Malik: Silver Medal In 57 kg Weight Category
Anshu was successful in winning the gold medal last time in Almaty. This time silver is his third medal in this championship. He won the bronze medal in 2020. Earlier, Anshu (57kg) had created history by winning the silver medal in the 2021 World Wrestling Championships held in the Norwegian capital Oslo. Manisha: Bronze Medal In 62 kg Weight Category
The story of Manisha, who won a bronze medal in the championship, is also very interesting. A madam sent a judo player to wrestle for wrestling. She too clashed with the opponent for leaving the competition early and was in a jiffy. After this, she became so attached to the soil that now she is beating foreign wrestlers. Manisha won gold in the National Wrestling Competition held in Jalandhar on 18 July 2018. Won gold medal in wrestling competition held in Himachal Pradesh on 9 November 2018.
