Reigning Paralympic champion Sumit Antil won the gold medal in the javelin throw F64 event at the Hangzhou Asian Para Games with a world record effort of 73.29 meters on the third day of the competitions on Wednesday. It was the most productive day for India with a total of 24 medals, 17 of which and all six golds came from athletics. India broke its record and won its 16th gold medal in the ongoing Asian Para Games in Hangzhou on Thursday.
Sachin Sarjerao Khilari won India’s 16th gold medal in men’s F-46 shot put. He broke the Games record mark by registering 16.03 Meters. Currently, India is holding sixth place with 72 medals.
