The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 encounter between SunRisers Hyderabad and Arjun Tendulkar will live on in his memory forever.
His father, the great cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, was in the MI dressing room when Arjun took Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s wicket in the final over of SRH’s 193-run chase against MI.
The Mumbai Indians pacer, who is 23 years old, took his first wicket in the elite T20 competition during that match.
When Arjun took Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s wicket in the final over of SRH’s 193-run chase against MI, his father, the great cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, was in the MI dressing room. With SRH requiring twenty runs, Arjun received the final over.
MI prevailed in the end by 14 runs. Arjun discussed Sachin’s influence on his game after taking his first wicket.
“Obviously, getting my first IPL wicket was great. I just needed to concentrate on what I had, the plan, and how to carry it out.
“I enjoy bowling, and as long as I play according to the team’s strategy and give it my all, I’ll bowl anytime the captain asks me to.
He and Sachin Tendulkar talk about cricket, we talk about how to play the game before it starts, and he tells me to do what I practice every game.
I just centered around my delivery, bowling great lengths and lines forthright. It’s a bonus if it swings, but not if it doesn’t.”
Talking about the game, Cameron Green scored his first IPL fifty, and Arjun Tendulkar bowled a brilliant 20th over under extreme pressure to help Mumbai Indians defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 14 runs on Tuesday, their third win in a row.
After being given the bat, Green (64 not out off 40 balls) and Tilak Varma (37 not out off 17 balls) led the Mumbai Indians to a challenging 192 for five.
Eventually, they missed the mark and were all out for 178 in 19.5 overs for their third loss in five games.
While Agarwal received some much-needed runs, Mumbai was put under pressure by Klaasen’s knock.
In a 21-run over, the South African reverse swept veteran leggie Piyush Chawla for a four and a six.
Sunrisers required 60 off the last 30 balls and Marco Jansen (13 off 6) and Washington Sundar (10 off 6) made the game intriguing with a series of limits before the last option took care of relaxed running between the wickets.
Tendulkar bowled two more overs with the new ball in his second IPL game before returning to bowl the high-pressure final over with the Sunrisers needing 20 runs.
Tendulkar decided to bowl full and wide and had the option to finish the work for his group. He got his lady IPL wicket simultaneously.
