Arsenal is said to be interested in signing Lucas Paqueta, a midfielder from West Ham United, to increase their midfield depth for next season. Since signing a club-record deal of around £51 million with the Hammers last summer, the 25-year-old Paqueta hasn’t started off well.
In the current 2022-23 season, he has made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and assisting three others. Before making the move to the London Stadium, the 40-cap Brazil player was linked to the Arsenal team. He is a technical operator with a left foot who has flair and vision.
During his two-year stay at Lyon, during which he scored 21 goals and had 13 assists in 80 games, he became famous. TEAMtalk says that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to rekindle his team’s pursuit of Paqueta during the summer transfer window.
He is thought to be a possibility to challenge Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard in the 4-2-3-1 formation of the north London club. At the London Stadium, Paqueta has a contract until June 2027. He is accepted to be keen on leaving West Ham assuming that they neglect to stay in the Chief Association this season.
The Brazilian would be willing to leave for a low price if David Moyes’ team were to be relegated to the EFL Championship. Arsenal is also interested in acquiring West Ham United captain Declan Rice this summer, in addition to Paqueta. Chelsea is likely to be a fierce rival for the £100 million-rated midfielder.
The 21-year-old Arsenal star is predicted by Joe Thomlinson to win the Ballon d’Or in the future:
Sky Sports host Joe Thomlinson lavished Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka with a lot of praise while he was appearing on Football Daily. He stated, “The fact that he is still only 21 is just absurd. He has clearly scored 12 goals and tallied 10 assists this season in the Premier League.
There are also a lot of crucial, game-changing moments for Arsenal in there. Additionally, he contributed three goals for England during the World Cup in 2014. Thomlinson went on to support Saka’s ascent to greater heights:
“Bukayo Saka is someone I think could win the Ballon d’Or in the future. Yes, I do. His roof is incredibly high. He has the potential to become one of the world’s best players in the future if he can stay healthy and available.”
In 28 league games this season, the 21-year-old Saka has scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists. On Sunday, March 26, he also scored his eighth international goal in England’s 2-0 victory over Ukraine.
