Indian archers have made a great start to their campaign in the Archery World Cup Stage 2. There our archer daughters won the bronze medal on Wednesday, the second day of the championship. The men’s team has also reached the final after defeating No. 1 Korea at their home.
They will face the French team on Saturday in the gold medal match. Players from 22 countries are participating in this competition. The competition will run till May 22.
Trio of Avneet, Muskaan, Priya won by one point
The trio of Avneet Kaur, Muskan Kirar, and Priya Gurjar performed brilliantly in the Women’s Compound Team event of the championship. In the morning match for the bronze medal, the Indian team registered a thrilling one-point victory over Turkey. India scored 232 points. So Turkey got only 231 points. In this match, the Indian team had already taken a one-point lead in the set. He got 59 marks. Whereas Turkey got only 58 points.
Indian archers hit four ten points. In the second set, Turkey took a one-point lead to reduce the score to 116-115. In the third set also Turkey was leading by one point (174-173) but in the last set, the Indian trio won with a one-point lead.
The men’s team won the match in the shoot-off
In the men’s compound team event, India’s archers showed a strong game. The trio of Abhishek Verma, Aman Saini, and Rajat Chauhan defeated the tournament’s No. 1 team Korea in their own home. She registered a 233 (29)-233 (26) victory over Korea in a thrilling semi-final.
The result of this match came out of a shoot-off. Earlier, both the teams scored 233 points. In the shoot-off, India hit two ten-pointers while one arrow hit nine points. The trio of Abhishek, Rajat, and Aman also won gold in World Cup Stage-1.
