Andy Murray Career
Murray started his career in 2005 when he ranked 507 based on the ATP ranking. He became a professional Player in April. He got the wild card entry to play in the clay-court tournament. In 2006, He became the No 1 British Tennis Player and World no 43. He won the French Open in 2005, Wimbledon in 2004, and US Open in 2004.
He won different tournaments during 2009-2012 and bagged the gold medal in Olympics 2012. He became the world’s no: 2, at that time. But, from 2013-2014, he faced some bad phases in his life and lost many tournaments. He also had major hip surgery. After this, he made a successful comeback and won the Olympic gold medal in 2016.
Personal life
Andy Murray was born on May 15th, 1987, and he suffered from a disease named bipartite patella, in which the kneecap bones remain separate and devoid of being together. He started playing tennis at the age of three. He made his first competitive appearance at the age of five.
Andy Murray is married to Kim Sears, daughter of Nigel Sears, and is the player-turned-tennis coach. The duo dated for nine years and tied the knot on 2015 April 14th.
Awards and achievements
Andy Murray was the only British man who became the Grand Slam champion by defeating Novak Djokovic in 2012 at US Open. In 2013 he won the Wimbledon title, and thus, he became the first British player to win Wimbledon.
