Andy Murray and Mikael Ymer Clash on the ATP tour : ATP tour 2022 is underway, The roller coaster clash took place between Andy Murray and Mikael Ymer on Monday 2nd August. The match was quite entertaining for the fans, as throughout the match a lot of twists and turns took place.
With so many twists and turns, Mikael finally managed to upset World no. 1 Andy Murry. The match ended with sets 1 7-6(8), 4-6, 6-1 to reach the 2nd round of the Citi Open. Since February, it was the second match on hard court for Mikael Ymer.
Mikael reacted in an On-court media interview
During the on-court media Interview, Mikael said I’m excited about the game, it was the first day of the US Swing, so obviously there is a lot left to do, but it’s still a very good start of the American
swing. Both of them were facing physical issues, but the Former Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP final surged his way through the third set in 2 hours and 50 minutes.
After saving 4 points in the opening set, Mikael Ymer managed to pull and make the lead 3-1 and Andy was left with scratching legs. Andy Murry missed many opportunities in one each of 4 sets in the 1st set one at 6-5 and one tie break. He was in a winnable position, but couldn’t convert into the winning game.
Murry after the game in an interview said ” It was disappointing obviously, I thought at the 1st set there was some good tennis. But after that, we were struggling physically, and the level was not great. I obviously had chances to close that out but didn’t get to that line.
In between the second set, Ymer was struggling with physical discomfort and that gave Murry a chance, the bit that couldn’t come out. Ymer recovered after the first set and Murry faced the same. Both were facing issues, but Ymer managed to pull the victory
