After an outstanding 2023 season, Australian men’s team head coach Andrew McDonald desires Cummins to keep enhancing as a captain in the years to come.

The former Australian versatile recognized Cummins’ inevitable from the outset of his leadership. And thinks that players only evolve as leaders on the job.
Despite Australia losing two erect Tests in India earlier this year, Cummins has had an outstanding year as a player and captain.
Going forward, the 30-year-old led Australia to the World Test Championship, the Ashes, and the team’s sixth 50-over World Cup victory. The men in yellow will complete the year with a Test series victory against Pakistan.
Pat Cummins produced game-changing times in both innings of the second Test against Pakistan at the MCG, ending with 10 scalps and in excess of the 250 milestone.
His stint was especially significant in the fourth innings, as the visitors attempted to chase down 317 runs. The captain guided the team to a 79-run victory. With one games remaining, Australia leads 2-0.
