Adams, a former seamer, has been designated bowling coach for New Zealand Cricket’s five-match T20I season against Pakistan.
The 48-year-old will be joining Gary Stead and Luke Ronchi on Auckland’s coaching staff, starting on Wednesday, January 10.
From 2001 to 2005, Adams played one Test, 42 ODIs, and four T20Is, capturing 62 international wickets.
He previously played at Nottinghamshire, England, Hampshire, and Essex until departing in 2015.
The 48-year-old then joined Australia’s local club, New South Wales, where he assisted Mitchell Starc in recovering from a form slump in 2019.
Adams has also worked with the Sydney Sixers of the Big Bash League (BBL) and Auckland’s domestic squad to help Lockie Ferguson grow.

With Shane Jurgensen leaving his post as New Zealand’s bowling coach following the 2023 ODI World Cup, Andre Adams was called in to fill it temporarily.
The Kiwis just won an away ODI series against Bangladesh and drew the T20I series at home.
Meanwhile, Pakistan suffered a humbling 3-0 Test series defeat in Australia. The first of five Twenty20 Internationals begins Wednesday in Auckland.
The teams will fly to Hamilton and Dunedin for the second and third games, respectively. Before returning to Christchurch for the remaining two T20Is.
