An allegation that former UFC champion Conor McGregor sexually assaulted a woman in an arena bathroom following Game 4 of the NBA Finals is the subject of an investigation by the NBA and the Miami Heat.
Ariel Mitchell, the woman’s lawyer, said that her client gave Miami police the clothes she was wearing that night and that a report was made.
Mitchell detailed her client’s allegations in letters to the NBA, the Heat, and McGregor’s representatives.
She also stated that the client would discuss “reasonable settlement offers” by June 12 or proceed with litigation.
A statement from the Heat said, “We are aware of the allegations and are conducting a thorough investigation.”
We will refrain from making any further statements until the investigation’s conclusion is known.
Similar statements were made by the NBA, which stated that it was collaborating with the Heat to gather data.
The alleged incident occurred on the same night that McGregor injured the Heat mascot during an erroneous halftime routine.
Burnie, or the person who wears Burnie’s costume, temporarily sought medical assistance on Friday night after taking two punches from McGregor during a third-quarter stoppage of Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Heat and the Denver Nuggets.
The team reported that the worker, who asked to remain anonymous, was receiving painkillers and was doing well.
Even before the segment began, many members of the Miami crowd booed McGregor, who was there as a marketing ploy for a pain-relieving spray.
The flame mascot was dressed like a fighter entering the ring, complete with robe and bulky boxing gloves. After knocking Burnie to the ground with a left hook, McGregor punched the mascot once more.
While several members of the Heat’s in-game promotional team dragged Burnie off the court. McGregor attempted to “spray” the mascot with the pain-relieving product.
Since McGregor injured his left leg in a fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
He hasn’t fought. In January 2020, he won his last title.
