Over the past few years, Triple H has collaborated closely with numerous WWE stars. James Kimball, one of Hunter’s former allies, was fired by the company last week for an “HR Violation.” A brand-new report sheds new light on the incident.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer claims that WWE hired Kimball as Vice President of Business Operations in 2020. As the Senior Vice President of Talent Operations and Strategy, he was elevated twice. During James’ tenure, he reportedly collaborated closely with Triple H.
However, on February 24, he received a pink slip for HR Violation, which ended his employment with the company.
Meltzer provided additional information regarding the situation, stating that Kimball was terminated from the Stamford-based promotion due to an undisclosed “incident.”
Fightful first reported the story, claiming that a human resource error was to blame. The only thing we’ve heard is that something happened, but we don’t know what it was exactly. Thanks to wrestletalk] The Wrestling Journalist added that James Kimball was prominently present at tryouts and was a significant component of WWE’s program with NIL.
Kimball “was a big part of the process of trying to line up top-level college athletes for the company and was the point person for a lot of the tryouts WWE had been doing as well as for the NIL program with college athletes.” Regards, wrestletalk]
WWE’s programming has undergone a lot of change for Triple H.
To put it mildly, the Stamford-based promotion’s recent months have been chaotic. In July 2022, Vince McMahon shocked the wrestling world by announcing his retirement from pro wrestling amid allegations of misconduct.
Triple H took over for the 77-year-old as head of the creative department at the company. However, Vince was immediately re-elected to the WWE board of directors as a major shareholder after returning to the company as executive chairman in January of this year.
Over the past year, there has been a lot of turnover among the promotion’s on- and off-screen staff. Triple H has added much-needed depth to the rosters of RAW and SmackDown by bringing back a number of stars who were released.
In the meantime, Vince McMahon’s return was followed by a number of staff changes, including Stephanie McMahon’s resignation shortly after her dad returned.
