An example of MS Dhoni’s hilarity: discussing the shortest team meeting in CSK history and much more from Captain Cool. At a recent event, former India captain MS Dhoni talked about the success mantra, how important processes and hard work are, and much more. This made the crowd laugh out loud. Moreover, Dhoni fascinated the crowd by giving them a sneak peek into his way of thinking, which has made him a decorated cricketer and one of the most successful captains in cricket.
Dhoni has done so well that his leadership style is now taught in business schools all over the country. When asked how he would have acted if he had to run between the wickets with former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, Dhoni, a World Cup winner, talked about how important it is to be a team player and know your teammates’ strengths and weaknesses.
Cracking up the gathering
MS Dhoni said in an interview with popular presenter Vikram Sathaye for Livfast that he would definitely slow down if he were running with legendary Pakistan batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq, who was not known for his speed between the wickets.
“If I am running with Inzy bhai, it’s important that I reduce my speed. If I don’t reduce my speed. Then run-out was going to happen 100 percent,” MS Dhoni said, cracking up the gathering on Thursday.
Shortest team meeting
Dhoni also talked about the “shortest team meeting” of his career, which he said took “1 minute” and happened when he was with Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
Everyone knows that Dhoni kept his team meetings short, both when he was with CSK and when he was with Team India. The star player for India has said in the past that he likes to sleep in on match days so he can be ready to play.
Dhoni has had a lot of success at the highest level, even though he doesn’t do things the way everyone else does. Dhoni is the only captain to win all three major ICC trophies: the T20 World Cup, the Cricket World Cup, and the Champions Trophy. He also won 4 IPL trophies and 2 Champions League trophies with CSK.
“Our shortest team meeting ever was at CSK. It was actually 1 minute. You can debate as to how you can have a meeting for 1 minute. The meeting was scheduled for 5:30 pm. All the players, support staff and everyone, we got together by 5:28. Then we said ‘everyone has come, let’s start the meeting.’ By 5:29 pm, the meeting was over. 5:30 we left. So it was 1 minute,” Dhoni explained.
In IPL 2023, Dhoni will be back to lead the Chennai Super Kings. The 41-year-old has been playing in the IPL even though he was done with international cricket in August 2020.
