Alabama Crimson Tide football: The University of Alabama (often known as Alabama, UA, or Bama) is represented in the American football league by the Alabama Crimson Tide football team. The club participates in the Southeastern Conference’s Western Division and the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) (SEC). Nick Saban, who has guided the Tide to six national titles during his career, is the team’s head coach. One of the most illustrious and prestigious football programmes in NCAA history is the Crimson Tide.
The team has won 18 national championships overall since 1892, including 13 wire-service (AP or Coaches’) victories during the polling period and five more before it. Paul “Bear” Bryant, a coach who is in the Hall of Fame, oversaw the group from 1958 to 1982. During his tenure, the squad won six national championships. Despite winning several national and conference titles, it wasn’t until running back Mark Ingram became the school’s first winner in 2009 that an Alabama player was awarded the Heisman Trophy. Derrick Henry was the second Heisman winner for the institution in 2015. With DeVonta Smith and Bryce Young, the Crimson Tide won back-to-back Heisman Awards in 2020 and 2021.

With 16 divisional victories and 14 SEC Championship Game appearances, the Crimson Tide is the SEC West Division’s top team. With 59 appearances through the 2021 season, the Associated Press (AP) ranks Alabama fourth all-time for final AP Poll appearances.
