AIFF intends to hire 50 full-time professional referees
Former FIFA referee Michael Andrews presided over the AIFF referees committee meeting, which was held at the local Football House.
In order to assist referees concentrate on their trade, Chaubey discussed his ambitions to expand the number of professional referees in his speech to the committee.
We will be making a lot of adjustments and redoing our refereeing procedures, according to Chaubey. ” In general, we want to pursue a disruptive approach since the results if we continue doing what we’ve been doing will be the same. We want to see more of our referees refereeing in important international games, representing India with pride.
“Refereeing development is a significant component of the strategic roadmap that is now under development. Every year, month, and week will have goals that we will work toward. I have no doubt that the strategy will ultimately pay off.
The referees committee discussed the elite referees development programme, which will be a collaborative effort between AIFF and its commercial partners Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL).
Trevor Kettle, the chief refereeing officer, discussed the planned five-year strategy on a number of topics, including the transition to professional refereeing, state involvement in referee development, and the integration of technology in the Indian officiating system.
The committee has resolved to evaluate the current policy and draught a new one in accordance with the needs before bringing it up with the AIFF management for effective implementation. The committee has agreed in principle to the project.
The committee believed that someone doing two roles simultaneously could make it more difficult for them to provide the greatest match operations possible.
It was suggested that the referees who are now inactive for any reason be asked to reactivate themselves using the internet portal RASI by December 31, 2022.
The committee also suggested the hiring of a manager for referee assessors and a state referees officer.
