Australia won the first two games of the series to get things going. The Australians were unable to win any of the last three Tests against England, hence they were unable to win the series.
After falling behind 0-2 in the Ashes 2023 series, Ben Stokes’ team produced an incredible comeback. They won the third Test, were denied a victory in the fourth match owing to weather, and then managed to win the final match to ensure a 2-2 tie for the series.
Due to the outcome, England and Australia are tied for third in the ICC World Test Championship points standings. With 26 points total from the series, each club has a 43.33% point advantage.
With 100% points, Pakistan is still in first place of the ICC World Test Championship standings. India is currently in second place with 66.67% of the total points.
No adjustments to the ICC World’s Test Championship standings are anticipated until December
Since none of the nine nations are scheduled to play a Test match until December 14, the World Test Championship standings will remain unchanged until December. For the upcoming few months, all sides will concentrate on the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
On November 19, the World Cup will be over. The following ICC World Test Championship series of this cycle is set to start on December 14. While the cricket boards may decide to schedule one after that. Australia Down Under will play Pakistan in a three-match series. Australia is currently atop the table.
