During India’s second innings in the current ICC World Test Championship match versus Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday, star Indian batsman Virat Kohli lost his cool. The match was part of the championship (December 24).
In the second innings, Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the one to remove Kohli from the game. During the 20th over of the innings, the Indian hitter made an effort to protect himself against a delivery from Miraz. The ball hit Kohli on the bat, and short-leg fielder Mominul Haque made a spectacular diving catch to send the Indian hitter back to the locker room.
After the dismissal, it seemed as if Virat Kohli was a bit taken aback by what had taken place. It seemed as if he became involved in a dispute with Taijul Islam when he was making his way back to the locker room. Kohli was eventually brought under control by Bangladesh’s captain Shakib Al Hasan and the umpires who were on the field.
Another one of Virat’s forgettable performances came in the shape of a test cricket match.
The Indian hitter broke his century drought in Twenty20 Internationals and One-Day Internationals earlier this year, but in any of his previous ten Test innings, he has failed to reach the 50-run mark. The last time Virat Kohli lasted 10 test innings without scoring a half-century was in 2014, which was during his disastrous tour of England. This is a worrying statistic since it indicates that Kohli is on track to repeat this feat.
After losing the series to England in 2014, Virat Kohli came back fighting and played really well. At the home series against Australia in the beginning of 2023, the Indian batter will try to replicate his successful return from the previous season.
As Day 3 of the test match between India and Bangladesh
which is now being played in Dhaka, comes to a close, the visitors are in a 45/4 position on the scoreboard. The team lead by KL Rahul needed to score 100 runs in order to achieve a 2-0 victory against Bangladesh in the series.Jaydev Unadkat, the nightwatchman, and Axar Patel, the all-rounder, are the only two Indian hitters without a loss in the middle order. Tomorrow will be an intriguing test to see whether India can accomplish a clean sweep of their opponents.
