After India trounced Pakistan, a video surfaced of Virat Kohli speaking fluent Punjabi with the ‘Maaro Mujhe Maaro’ dude. India and Pakistan played a nail-biting game at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday night during the Asia Cup 2022. The Men in Blue won by five wickets. However, the game came down to the wire, and Team India’s best all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, ended it in some way when he finished the 148-run chase with two balls left.
Both teams played equally well, so Pakistan fans weren’t too disappointed with how their team did. Indian fan group Bharat Army posted a video to social media of cricket fans from both countries celebrating a “good game” after the match.
Momin Saqib meets Kohli and Pandya
Momin Saqib, a social media influencer whose “Maro Mujhe Maro” meme went viral on the internet, was seen congratulating Virat Kohli and Pandya after the proceedings.
As Kohli and Saqib talked to each other in Punjabi near the boundary ropes, the influencer met the Indian cricket players. Saqib posted a video of the same thing on social media and wrote: “A great sportsman and a humble personality. The one and only @imVkohli Good to see him back in form! What a game tonight! Shall see you in the Final!”
After meeting Kohli, Saqib praised Pandya for putting on a great show. He also told the all-rounder a joke, which he later wrote about in one of his tweets. “@hardikpandya7 Bhai tera chakka nahi bhulay ga! (Hardik Pandya, I won’t forget your six brother,” he wrote on Twitter, referring to the six he hit at the end of the game that gave India the win.
Kohli played again after more than a month’s break. He got 35 runs off 34 balls, which included three fours and one six. On the other hand, Pandya kept up his excellent play and was also named Player Of The Match. He scored 33 runs without getting out in 17 balls, and then he went to bowl his four overs, during which he took three wickets and gave up only 25 runs.
