After 5 years, Adam Milne is Scheduled to Rejoin the New Zealand Contract List: For the first time in five years, fast bowler Adam Milne has received a central contract offer from New Zealand Cricket (NZC).
Milne’s inclusion on the list follows his most successful international campaign, during which he played 16 times for the Black Caps (11 T20s and 5 ODIs) and claimed 24 wickets at an average of 24, including a career-best 5-26 in the second T20 against Sri Lanka, which ranks third among all New Zealanders in T20Is.
The 31-year-old, who made his debut for his country in 2010, has participated in the last two ICC T20 World Cup campaigns for the Black Caps.
According to a post on the New Zealand Cricket website on Thursday, coach Graystead said Milne’s offer of a central contract was well merited and demonstrated his steadfast and continued desire to play international cricket for New Zealand.
Adam has put in a lot of effort and displayed strong fortitude over the past few years to deserve this contract offer, according to the stead.
He has always been a bowler of the highest caliber, and we were pleased with his consistent performance over the recent home summer and Pakistan tour.
Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme, and Martin Guptill have been replaced by Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, and Blair Tickner, who joined the list mid-season last year and were all granted releases.
Ajaz Patel, a spinner who was on the list last year but only participated in two tests during that time, has not been given a central contract.
Despite once more turning down a central contract, Boult has agreed to be available for the Black Caps for a portion of the playing schedule, and as a result, he has been given a casual playing contract.
The players have until June 12 to accept or reject the contract offers in accordance with the Master Agreement.
Finn Allen, Tom Blundell, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Tom Latham, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Blair Tickner, Neil Wagner, Kane Williamson, and Will Young are among the players who have been offered central contracts for 2023–24.
