Oscar Gloukh, 18, rejected Barcelona’s offer to sign for the La Liga giants, stating that he wanted to play for Real Madrid instead. Already being touted as one of Europe’s most promising players is the Israeli teenager sensation.
Gloukh, who received his training in the lower ranks of Maccabi Tel-Aviv, recently made the move to Red Bull Salzburg for €7 million, a sum that is anticipated to skyrocket once he reaches his peak. Salzburg has a skill for seizing youthful gifts and offering them to greater clubs for benefit, and their most recent procurement is no special case.
El Nacional claims that Barcelona made a counteroffer after learning Salzburg had swooped in and that they were also interested in signing Oscar Gloukh. However, Gloukh had his heart set on Real Madrid, a Spanish powerhouse.
Through El Nacional, he revealed this to Forbes Israel:
“I have been a Real Madrid fan since I could reason and since I started playing football. Arriving at Real will be the crucial moment. My ultimate goal is to represent Real Madrid on the field of play at the Bernabeu. Because Barca wanted me, I was very happy, but they came too late in my career, so it didn’t happen in the end.”
He continued,
“Barca remembered us when we had already concluded everything with Salzburg.” We went with them rather than Barcelona because it was the best option for me. In the end, it is abundantly clear that we made the right choice. As a player, it makes more sense.”
Who is Oscar Gloukh, the brilliant footballer who prefers Real Madrid to Barcelona :
The rapid rise to fame of Oscar Gloukh has been nothing short of remarkable. He was born in Rehovot, a small town near Tel Aviv. At first, he tried his hand at martial arts before he realized he was naturally good at football. He was quickly signed by Maccabi Tel-Aviv, putting an end to interest from Maccabi Haifa, a rival club.
Gloukh had already made his first-team debut at the age of 17, and within a season, he had become a regular starter and an Israel international player. Gloukh was immediately offered a bespoke project by Red Bull Salzburg to assist him in developing his skills in Austria prior to making the transition to a top-tier league.
While Salzburg had the advantage of being an early bird, Barcelona was a tempting option. Gloukh’s outspoken love for Real Madrid is likely to have enraged fans, so the Catalans wouldn’t have had much of a chance.
