According to an Athletic report, Real Madrid and the entourage of star midfielder Eduardo Camavinga have begun negotiations for a contract extension in the Spanish capital. On the day of the transfer deadline in the summer of 2021, Camavinga joined the current champions of the UEFA Champions League.
With a series of impressive performances off the bench the following year, he helped them win their 14th European championship and advance to the FIFA World Cup final with France. In the wake of getting comfortable well at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu and dazzling the Spanish bosses with his heavenly presentations this season,
Genuine Madrid allegedly needs to offer him new terms to compensate for his turn of events and mentality at the club. When Camavinga moved to Real Madrid in 2021 for a fee of €31 million (excluding bonuses), he had already signed a contract for six years.
Los Blancos, on the other hand, is said to be eager to extend his stay by two or three years and offer him a raise to mark his progress. The report says that if he signs a new contract, the La Liga club hopes to raise his release to a staggering €1 billion, even though negotiations are still thought to be in their early stages.
He would be placed in the same category as his Brazilian teammates Vinicius Jr., Eder Militao, and Rodrygo Goes as a result of this. The same €1 billion clause was added to the South American trio’s contracts after they agreed to extensions last year.
Carlo Ancelotti calls Camavinga’s versatility “untouchable” at Real Madrid:
The club’s upper management, including manager Carlo Ancelotti, is said to be impressed with Camavinga’s progress, despite the fact that he had to settle for making the majority of appearances off the bench during the 2021/22 season.
After that, the Italian said that the Frenchman was an “untouchable” part of their team in the market for transfers. In January, amid rumors that Arsenal was interested in bringing Camavinga to the emirates, Ancelotti categorically denied any transfer speculation regarding the player.
Through Marca, the 63-year-old declared:
“Like Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, he [Camavinga] is untouchable.” The 21-year-old has also played left back for Los Blancos and Les Bleus for brief periods recently. In a press conference, Ancelotti acknowledged that, despite being impressed by his performances, Camavinga is not particularly interested in playing the role.
Through Goal, he explained:
“As a left back, he [Camavinga] has surprised us all. I really like him. [ We’ll see when David] Alaba returns on Sunday. Because he works well, the team suffers less from being behind.”
Added he:
He hasn’t played much in this position, but he puts a lot of people in danger on the other side of the field. Additionally, he has defensive duties. We like it, but he doesn’t like it. As they prepare to host Real Valladolid on Sunday, Real Madrid will be hoping to recover from their 2-1 defeat to archrival Barcelona.
