Denzel Dumfries, a right-back for Inter Milan, is reportedly on the verge of being signed by Manchester United in a swap deal. The Dutch fullback is said to have a lot of admiration for Erik ten Hag, who is eager to bring him to Old Trafford.
Football Insider claims that Manchester United is considering trading Dumfries for center-back Victor Lindelof at the San Siro. Ten Hag may decide to leave the club if a deal is reached with Inter, as Lindelof is only a backup central defensive option.
Due to a lack of funds, the Red Devils were unable to sign a right-back during the January transfer window. Their case was also helped by the resurgence of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who started the season on the bench under Ten Hag.
Ten Hag is still looking for an upgrade, despite the fact that their first-choice right-back is Diogo Dalot, who has been in decent form this season. He thinks Dumfries is a good choice. Regarding Lindelof, the Sweden international joined Old Trafford from Benfica in 2017 and has been in and out of the team ever since.
He and Harry Maguire used to be the club’s first-choice center-back pairing, but they have both fallen down the pecking order. Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are Ten Hag’s first-choice defenders, so the team may decide to trade Lindelof for Dumfries.
Inter, on the other hand, are looking for a central defender because they are going to lose Milan Skriniar to Paris Saint-Germain. They have previously been linked to Lindelof.
Manchester United is eager to improve on their Carabao Cup victory:
In the race for the Premier League title, Manchester United is now 16 points behind Arsenal. However, they are still well-positioned to finish in the top four. Be that as it may, the cup rivalries are where Ten Witch is right now focused. After winning the Carabao Cup, the team now wants to win the FA Cup and the Europa League.
They will play Fulham in the FA Cup quarterfinals, and they will also play in the Europa League last eight. In the first leg of their Round-of-16 matchup at Old Trafford, which the Red Devils won 4-1, they will play Real Betis in the second leg on March 16.
