Santi Aouna says that AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is open to moving to Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) but not interested in joining Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr team. Rudi Garcia and Al-Nassr parted ways recently due to internal issues and lack of form.
They are looking into the market for a brand-new coach. According to rumors, the Saudi Pro League team is prepared to make a substantial offer to Portuguese coach Mourinho in an effort to lure him to the Middle East.
In any case, Aouna said that Mourinho isn’t keen on progressing. However, the former manager of Real Madrid is open to returning to Chelsea. After Graham Potter was fired, Frank Lampard is in charge of the Blues as the interim manager.
At the start of the next season, the West Londoners are going to hire a new coach. In the meantime, Christophe Galtier’s PSG future is in doubt as well. The Parisians could appoint a new manager immediately or at the beginning of the following season. Mourinho is willing to play that role as well. However, it does not appear likely that Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo will reunite at Al-Nassr.
Jose Mourinho once received praise from Cristiano Ronaldo :
During his time at Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo played for three seasons under Jose Mourinho. Under his compatriot, the Portuguese attacker had a stunning record. Under Mourinho, he scored 168 goals and contributed 49 assists in 164 games.
Under Mourinho, Los Blancos won one Spanish Super Cup, one Copa del Rey, and one La Liga championship. Ronaldo once hailed Mourinho as the best manager he had ever worked for his tactical skills. The five-time Ballon d’Or champ said (by means of Sportsbrief):
“I always say that I would rank him high. I have played for countless extraordinary mentors, however, Jose Mourinho was a major mastermind scientifically; He went into great detail about everything.” The admission is quite fascinating when one considers that Ronaldo also worked under Sir Alex Ferguson, Zinedine Zidane, and Carlo Ancelotti during his career.
