Bayern Munich is looking at a move for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez, a player Thomas Tuchel needed to enroll while he was at Chief Association Goliaths Chelsea. Midfielders Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Konrad Laimer, Ryan Gravenberch, and Marcel Sabitzer play for the Bundesliga champions.
Sabitzer has borrowed with Manchester Joined together and is supposed to continue on for all time the following summer. Gravenberch, on the other hand, may consider his options when the transfer window reopens because he has been dissatisfied with his lack of game time this season.
As indicated by Game Bild columnists Tobi Altschaffl and Christian Falk, Bayern is watching out for Ajax’s Alvarez as a potential exchange target. The Mexican defensive midfielder is more well-known for his physical attributes, ability to win aerial balls, and tackling than for his ability to pass or distribute the ball.
Ajax turned down Chelsea’s £43 million bid for the 25-year-old in January, despite Chelsea’s long-standing interest. Alvarez refused to train with the team as a result, but when it became clear that he would remain in Amsterdam, he came back.
The Eredivisie giants have made Alvarez available for transfer, according to a report in the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf (via the Spanish publication AS). “Ajax will sell exceptionally appraised midfielder Edson Alvarez in the late spring move window.
Even though there do not appear to be any actual offers for Alvarez at this time, it is important to keep in mind that Chelsea expressed an interest in the Mexican international in January, but Ajax refused to make an offer to the Premier League team.
Since moving to Amsterdam in 2019 from Club America, the 25-year-old, who has played 60 times for Mexico, has won two Dutch championships. Since signing with Ajax in July 2019 for $17 million from Club America, Alvarez has made 143 appearances.
What Edson Alvarez said after a Chelsea move went wrong :
Edson Alvarez expressed his disappointment at not being offered a move to Chelsea after Ajax prevented him from joining Chelsea in January. However, he did express optimism that major clubs will pursue his services in the future.
Through transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Alvarez stated: I’m extremely disappointed by it. However, I’m persuaded that one day a major club will come. We had no idea that Chelsea would try again at the end of August. It was a challenging circumstance. Nothing could be done by Ajax.
Alvarez also stated that relocating to England would have been beneficial to his family financially as well as professionally. ESPN Netherlands obtained his explanation: You are aware, as a player, that this would alter everything. A superior association, a superior life for yourself and for your loved ones. For me, this is the whole point. I’m here for my family as well as my love of football.
