The Hyderabad-based brand outbid the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to obtain Cummins for 20.50 crore at the auction.

They paid a total of 30.80 crore on 6 players, with Travis Head being the other big-ticket deal at 6.80 crore.
“The SunRisers Hyderabad may have paid a high price for Cummins only because they wanted a captain” Chopra suggested in a video posted to his YouTube channel.
Cummins has 45 wickets in 42 IPL games at an unimpressive economy rate of 8.54. The Australian seamer has performed better, with 55 dismissals in 50 matches at a reasonable economy rate of 7.37 in T20Is.

Aakash Chopra is skeptical about SunRisers Hyderabad’s move to acquire Travis Head. The cricketer-turned-commentator believes Head’s acquisition means Aiden Markram will not play for SRH.

Chopra believes that Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Pat Cummins will play three of the four abroad roles for SRH. He also stated that the last international player will most likely be Glenn Phillips or Marco Jansen.
