Aakash Chopra is opposing India playing Sanju Samson against Afghanistan in place of Jitesh Sharma in the third T20I in Bengaluru. The match will be played on Wednesday, January 17.
With an unstoppable 2-0 lead, the Men in Blue go into the third and final game of the series. Jitesh, who batted as the wicketkeeper-batter in the first two Twenty20 Internationals, hammered a twenty-ball thirty-one in the first game of the series but was out for a duck in the second.

Chopra expressed his opinion that Samson shouldn’t take Jitesh’s spot in India’s playing XI. He said this in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
“Jitesh or Sanju should be kept at number six, or alternately. You may have considered Sanju if Jitesh had completely confirmed his spot if there was no doubt in his name. And if he was going to the World Cup. But Jitesh isn’t confirmed yet,” he thought. There’s also another aspect to it. If you were to play Sanju, would you evaluate him after just one game? It’s untrue. Give him three opportunities, at the very least, anybody you try. Throughout his career, Sanju has experienced this, and the former India opener continued.
Chopra emphasized that whereas others have had several opportunities, assessments of Samson’s career have been centered on his one or two chances. He went on to say that giving the Kerala wicketkeeper-batter just one chance to establish his abilities would be a blatant injustice.
“Virat Kohli needs to play because he has only played one match,” said Aakash Chopra.
Aakash Chopra stated that Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma ought to play in the third Twenty20 International. He was also thinking about the remainder of the batting order.
The former cricket player turned pundit does not want Tilak Varma to take Rinku Singh’s or Shivam Dube’s spot in the starting eleven.
In closing, Chopra stated that there is no chance for the top six players in India to change. He stated that the Men in Blue would need to play the same frontline hitters even if they would want to give the guys on the bench opportunity.
