On Thursday, August 3, a meeting of the Bilawal Bhutto-led committee, which Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif of Pakistan has appointed. Will be held to talk about Pakistan’s participation in the 2023 World Cup Cricket in India.
Some voices in Pakistan urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to retaliate and not send the squad to India for the World Cup after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declined to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.
Cricbuzz reported that the Pakistan panel is unlikely to offer any unfavourable recommendations. However, it can insist on a security check in India before approving the national cricket team’s participation in the World Cup.
A senior PCB official was reported in the report as saying:
“The decision to participate in the World Cup will be made at a prominent meeting.
The Pakistan panel will reportedly request permission from the BCCI and ICC to inspect the security measures in place at the stadiums where Pakistan is scheduled to play its World Cup 2023 matches.
Reportedly, the India-Pakistan 2023 World Cup match would now be played on October 14
More than a month after the World Cup’s official itinerary was released, there is still some uncertainty around the programme. The major World Cup match between India and Pakistan will take place in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on October 14. Rather than the originally scheduled date of October 15, according to a recent report in the news agency PTI.
The India-Pakistan match would need to be postponed due to security concerns as October 15 is also the first day of the Hindu holiday of Navaratri, though the BCCI has refuted this.
The source went on to say that the 2023 World Cup schedule would soon be altered by since. It is likely that some other games would also be shifted, the International Cricket Council.
India will host the 2023 World Cup from October 5 to November 19. In Ahmedabad, a match between England and New Zealand will serve as the tournament’s opening match.
