WWE Superstars who have won the Triple Crown Pedro Morales, a Hall of Famer, was the first person to win the Triple Crown for the WWE. Since then, only a select few elite superstars have been able to win the Triple Crown. The elite fraternity of champions includes icons like Bret Hart, Ric Flair, The Rock, and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
The superstar must have won a primary title and two secondary titles at some point in their careers to be considered a Triple Crown Champion.
The WWE Championship, the Universal Championship, and the Undisputed Championship are examples of primary title reigns. A run for the Tag Team Championship and the Intercontinental title could be part of a secondary championship. The United States title does not count toward a Triple Crown Championship, contrary to popular belief.
We take a look at a few of the five WWE Superstars who are currently Triple Crown Champions today.
#5. Kofi Kingston
A former WWE Champion is one of the generation’s most beloved and revered WWE Superstars. The story of how the New Day member overcame all obstacles to realize the American dream is inspiring.
Kofi’s family immigrated to the United States after Kofi was born in West Africa. He was determined to succeed as a child, and the former WWE Champion did just that.
Kingston signed with WWE at the end of 2006, and on January 22, 2008, he made his main roster debut on an episode of ECW. Kofi was drafted to the RAW roster just a few months after spending a brief time on the ECW roster.
The 41-year-old defeated Chris Jericho at the Night of Champions pay-per-view to win the Intercontinental Championship, earning him his first title.
#4. Alexa Bliss is the second WWE Ladies’ Triple Crown Champion
Alexa Bliss has been among the best and most famous ladies’ grapplers lately. With multiple championship victories to her credit, Bliss has been at the forefront of the current surge in women’s wrestling popularity.
Alexa competed in a variety of sports prior to wrestling. She was a formidable opponent in track and field, kickboxing, and softball. As a fitness competitor, Bliss was also involved in the professional bodybuilding industry. She also competed in the Arnold Classic, which is famous worldwide.
In 2013, Bliss joined WWE and was placed on the NXT roster for initial training. Despite having no prior experience, Alexa was a natural in the ring due to her talent as an athlete.
#3. The Miz has won the Intercontinental title eight times.
He is The Miz, and he is indeed fantastic! The Real World on MTV was where Mike Mizanin first rose to prominence. In the 2001 season of the reality show, Mike introduced the world to his alter ego, “The Miz,” while he was a cast member.
Mizanin was a lifelong fan of pro wrestling and had always wanted to be a wrestling superstar. Following his unscripted TV drama vocation, Mike set off on a mission to pursue that fantasy and in 2004, he was projected in WWE’s Extreme Enough Season 4.
#2. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is the pride of Davenport, Iowa, and at the ripe old age of 18, he made his professional wrestling debut on the Iowa independent scene as “Gixx.” Rollins is the inaugural NXT Champion. When Ring of Honor approached him shortly thereafter, he truly became known to the wrestling world and rose to superstardom as the ROH World Champion.
In 2010, Seth was endorsed by WWE. Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose made their historic debut as The SHIELD at the premium live event of the 2012 Survivor Series after spending some time in the developmental system. The trio completely took over the business over the next few years by destroying everyone in their path.
#1. Roman Reigns
The Head of the Table Roman Reigns ranks first on our list of current superstars who have won the Triple Crown. There is a long line of wrestling royalty that includes the Head of the Table. Over the course of its history, the Anoa’i family has produced numerous legendary wrestlers. His father, WWE Hall of Famer Sika from The Wild Samoans, is a member of the Anoa’i family.
Reigns signed with WWE in 2010 after a brief NFL career. As previously mentioned, he made his main roster debut in 2012 at the Survivor Series pay-per-view with The SHIELD members.
Reigns would follow in the footsteps of Ambrose and Rollins and achieve singles success after The SHIELD collapsed. At first, fans were against The Big Dog being promoted to the main event. Fans felt as though the company was forcing him on them too quickly, for whatever reason. However, Reigns demonstrated his worth as possibly the generation’s greatest wrestler.
Reigns are the reigning Undisputed Universal Champion, leading The Bloodline. As of this writing, the Tribal Chief has held the Universal title for nearly 900 days. Reigns have held the Intercontinental and Tag Team titles in addition to completing the requirements to win the Triple Crown.
Additionally, Reigns is the 2015 Royal Rumble champion and the former United States Champion.
