The TATA IPL 2023 Auction is set to be hung on 23rd December 2022 in Kochi, with a sum of 405 players to go under the sledge. A minimum of 318 players will not be sold because the teams only have 87 slots available for them to fill.
In order to create the most balanced team for the two-month competition, all teams will be looking to strengthen areas of weakness and retain their core group from last year. It’s going to be a busy afternoon for all teams with top stars like Cameron Green, Ben Stokes, Mayank Agarwal, and Sam Curran going under the hammer.
991 players had initially signed up for the IPL Auction. Based on their interest, the franchises reduced this list to 405 players. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Martin Guptill, Colin de Grandhomme, and Ben Cutting, among others, were not included in the final auction list, so franchises showed no interest in them.
The names of these three top Indian players, who will not be participating in the Tata IPL 2023 Auction, were also not provided.
#1 Kedar Jadhav
In February 2020, Jadhav last played for India in an ODI against New Zealand. The batting all-rounder has since become undesirable because of his conflicting exhibitions with the bat, slow running between the wickets, and unfortunate endeavors on the field.
The cricketer from Maharashtra has an average IPL record, scoring 1196 runs in 80 innings at an average of 22.15 and a strike rate of 123.17, and is known for his improvisation with the bat and ability to chip in with the ball with his slingy action.
The veteran Indian cricketer, who has previously played for a number of teams, including Delhi Capitals, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, appears to be over the age of 37.
Whereas his base price of INR was not enough to sell him at the 2022 IPL auction. He was not even considered by any team this year, costing $1 million, and as a result, he was not included in the auction at all.
#2 Cheteshwar Pujara
India’s Test-match team relies heavily on Pujara. He once more demonstrated his value in the game’s longest format by scoring 90 and 102* in the current India-Bangladesh Test match.
The veteran Indian played for the Punjab Kings in an IPL match in 2014. He was most recently acquired by Chennai Super Kings in 2021 for his base price of INR 50 lakhs, but he did not play in any of the tournament’s games.
In the wake of going unsold in the 2022 IPL closeout, Pujara decided not to select himself during the current year’s occasion. The veteran Indian player has played for Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, and other teams.
#3 Hanuma Vihari
Hanuma Vihari is an essential member of India’s Test team. However, he has not signed up for the 2023 Tata IPL Auction. The Indian hitter last played an IPL match in 2019 for the Delhi Capitals.
The batter has also played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past. At a pitiful strike rate of 88.47 and a below-par average of 14.2, Vihari has scored 284 runs in 23 innings.
Our list of three senior Indian cricketers who will not participate in the Tata IPL 2023 Auction is now complete. An IPL contract is deserved by these players.
