Miami was aiming to improve after being swept by Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in the 2023 NBA Finals. Here are some names to consider before the Miami Heat trade deadline.
Before “Dame Time” was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Heat were said to be the frontrunners to sign Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers.
Butler informed reporters that he was on an emotional roller coaster before the season began. With Lillard out, the reigning Eastern Conference Finals MVP dug in and promised a championship.

Tyus Jones:- Since the offseason, he has been linked to a trade with the Miami Heat. Jones isn’t as good as Damian Lillard, but he’s a capable playmaker who can lead a team. Kyle Lowry has a history of injuries and may have lost a stride or two.
Jones is also usually accessible. He has appeared in at least 60 games in each of the previous seven seasons.
Jerami: If the Miami Heat are unable to lure Lillard away from the Portland Trail Blazers, they may be able to do it with Jerami Grant. A deal might persuade the Blazers to boost their roster. Jovic is a promising young player who will complement Simons, Sharpe, and Henderson.
Jerami Grant is owed around $95 million over the next three years, with a player option for $36 million in the 2027-28 season. Grant’s timing isn’t ideal for Portland, but it is designed to accommodate Jimmy Butler’s championship window.
Pascal Siakam:- Pascal Siakam is well-known to the Miami Heat. Bringing him in might help Miami get over the hurdle. OG Anunoby has already been dealt with by the Raptors. Most NBA experts feel Siakam will be the next in line.
Alex Caruso: Despite their recent success, the Chicago Bulls are 15-21 and 11th in the Eastern Conference. Alex Caruso may potentially be available for a trade if the proper price is offered.
The defensive stalwart is in the last two years of a four-year, $37 million contract with the Bulls that he signed in 2021. Caruso is said to be interested in joining a title contender.
Donovan Mitchell:- If the Miami Heat want to make a major statement, signing Donovan Mitchell will do the trick. Mitchell’s future in Cleveland is said to be in doubt.
